Samantha Stosur (26° según el ranking WTA) derrotó a Kristina Mladenovic (54°) y logró consagrarse campeona en el torneo de Estrasburgo, Francia. La tenista australiana revirtió el marcador para alzar el trofeo.

En el primer set, la raqueta local se impuso por 6-3, pero Stosur logró reponerse y se quedó con la segunda manga por 6-2. En la tercera fracción, la oriunda de Brisbane se impuso 6-3, logrando su sexto título en su carrera y el primero en el 2015.

En el campeonato de Núremberg, en tanto, Kerin Knapp (48°) se quedó con el título del torneo alemán ante Roberta Vinci (42°). La nacida en Brunico se impuso por parciales de 7-6 (5), 4-6 y 6-1 en el duelo de raquetas italianas.
